The Short Version

Who We Are

ThinkSlash (“we,” “our,” or “us”) publishes free calculators and guides for the business side of an art practice — pricing, commissions, freelance finances, and selling work. We built the site to need as little of your information as possible, and this policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

How the Calculators Handle Your Figures

This matters most for a tools site, so we’ll be specific. Every calculator here — artwork pricing, commission pricing, hourly rate, materials cost, gallery split, and profit & break-even — runs entirely in your own browser with JavaScript. The income targets, prices, costs, and commission rates you enter are worked out on your device and never reach our servers. There is no database of your quotes, and nothing to log. Close the tab and the figures are gone. Your pricing is nobody’s business but yours, and technically it stays that way.

What We Do Not Collect

What We Do Collect

An email address, only if you give it. If you subscribe or email us, we hold your address to send what you asked for or to reply. One click unsubscribes, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Standard server logs.Like most sites, our host records routine request data — browser type, approximate region from an IP address, and pages requested — to keep the site secure and running. These logs aren’t used to identify you and are rotated on a short schedule.

Cookies, Advertising & Analytics

ThinkSlash is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, and Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other sites. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to see, in aggregate, which calculators and articles are useful. You can control or switch off personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out. Our Cookie Policy has more detail.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold (in practice, an email address if you gave us one), to object to processing, or to withdraw consent. Email support@thinkslash.comand we’ll act on it.

Children

ThinkSlash is a general-audience tool for working and aspiring artists and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above. The client-side design that keeps your figures on your own device is a commitment we don’t intend to reverse.
